Meet Tony

Out here, in District 35, we do things differently than in Washington. We wake up, pour the coffee, rustle the kids out of bed, throw our lunch box on the front seat of a tired pick-up truck and head off to work; most days before the sun even rises. We come home to the same challenges night after night. What's for supper? What happened in school today? Did I remember to pay the power bill? We shuttle kids, we help the neighbors, we mow the lawn. Life out here gets complicated at times but we make sacrifices, we work hard and we do what is right, even when no one is watching. My name is Tony Randolph and just like you, I love Rapid City, Box Elder, and the beautiful Black Hills.

I moved here in 1996 and have built my life and business around the Black Hills. After a divorce, I raised my four children as a single dad until 2011, when I married the love of my life Audrey. Combined, we have seven children and five grandchildren. We have had to make tough choices for our kids and our family. We have had to mull over household budgets, education opportunities and affordable healthcare options; just like you.

Serving you in Pierre over the past four years has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and being appointed chair of House Military and Veteran’s Affairs has been a great privilege. I have witnessed continued spending on things that should be left to the private sector. It has been proven time and time again that once government gets involved in anything it takes longer than it should and cost much, much more than necessary. That is why each year I vote against the “omnibus” budget bill that grows our SD State Gov. spending our hard-earned dollars on special projects and programs which amounts to wasteful spending and added burdens on the people of South Dakota.
It would be my honor to continue serving the people of District 35 for another two years, looking out for your best interests, and working hard to keep this South Dakota the freest state in the nation.
